Electric Bass:

This course covers everything you need, no matter if you have zero knowledge of the instrument, or if you are already a hobby or a professional bass player. 

with this course you achieve:

• How to develop the traditional role of the instrument, which is to be the rhythm foundation of a band or ensemble.

• To keep this role with completely confidence in the styles of your preference.

• To be completely reliable as a bass player, being ready to play just by yourself as well as with other musicians.

We use original study material, backing tracks, and you receive a lot of good advice about playing with more people.

Music Theory and Harmony:

We don’t need Music Theory to make music. But Music Theory is a powerful tool that helps us to know where we are in a song, to work arrangements in a faster way, and to communicate better with other musicians, even when they don’t know about it. 

Knowing Music Theory and Harmony help us to be more efficient when making music, because we are not always depending on our ears and the extra time that consumes.

with this course you achieve:

• How to analyze, in terms of harmony and rhythm, the music you are making according to your style.

• How to find the key you are in a song, so the you can make new arrangements, create vocal melodies, improvising solos and create backing vocals, among many other things.

• How to give and receive indications from other musicians in real time, so you can get the best out of a rehearsal, a session and/or a concert.

• How to read and write music scores, tablatures, and leadsheets of any song or piece of music.

Composition and Music Production:

When it comes to composition, songwriting, arrangements, and music production, we are talking about understanding every fiber of the music itself. 

This course is aimed to help you and everyone to work in their music, no matter if it is from their own or from other musicians, and to contribute for you to be completely aligned with your essence as an artist.

Mauricio has a lot of experience working with bands, symphonic orchestras, ensembles, DJs, duos, etc. both live and at the studio, which can be checked here. This is why he has been developing this course in order to teach about composition, arrangements, basic home studio, recordings, among other topics, so you can get the two most important things: To feel fulfilled about your music, as well as to touch your audience with it. 

with this course you achieve:

• To understand the foundations of a song, track or piece, regardless the style: Main melody, accompanying chords and main rhythm.

• How to create music ideas from zero, and how to develop them.

• How to build a complete arrangement of a simple music idea you already have.

• Everything about how the Production Chain works, which is: Composition > Arrangements > Recording > Mixing > Mastering.

• As an optional content, a complete instruction on how to build a home-studio and how to work with it, including the choosing of hardware, software, gear, instruments, etc.

Work Method:

• All courses are given in English, Spanish or German.

• The courses are directly with Mauricio, in a one-on-one modality. There are no pre-recorded videos, because each student is different and with different ways of playing and learning.

• The sessions are either in person, if you live in Berlin, Germany, or online by Zoom, Skype or similar, at a schedule that suits both of them.

• There is an initial application interview where we talk about the goals you want to accomplish, as well as methods, schedule, values, and clarify doubts. IMPORTANT NOTICE: Due to Mauricio's many activities as an active musician, the number of students that he accepts are limited. At this moment there are 2 spots available, after accomplishing a successful application interview with him.

• This initial interview is free of charge.

Meet your Teacher:

Originally from Chile and based in Berlin, Germany, Mauricio's passion for music and inspiring others on their journey through life is unwavering. His musical work is a testimony to his pursuit of new possibilities. As a composer, soloist, music producer, and member of various bands, he has recorded multiple albums, live DVDs, embarked on numerous tours, performed at concerts, festivals, and streaming shows.

He has even had the honor of playing alongside Symphonic Orchestras and being a winner of the Pulsar Chilean Music Awards (the Chilean Grammys), all while being sponsored by notable brands of musical instruments and equipment. Additionally, he has given a lot of talks, conferences, workshops and Masterclasses.

All of this experience is joined to more than 20 years of teaching both at music schools and with private students, making him an authentic and reliable educator in music, always with the will to get the best of his students.
